Lebanese Night for the
Consular Corps Members and Friends
The members of the Consular Corps had the opportunity to get together at
the Lebanese Restaurant Beirut in Glyfada on Thursday 20th May 2010. The
objective of the gathering was for the members to meet and renew the
bonds of friendship and enjoy a relaxing evening free from the daily
pressures and problems.
The CCG had the pleasure in receiving the members of the Board of
Directors of the newly formed association "2500 Marathon International
Association". Mr. Guy Feaux de la Croix, Minister Counselor of the
German Embassy and founder of the Association addressed the gathering
and spoke about the European Lebanese relations which date back to
ancient times. According to mythology the bonds between Europe and
Lebanon began when Europa who was a Lebanese princess as abducted by
Zeus.
The cuisine and service were excellent and for several hours, the guests
who attended felt themselves transported to Beirut, once known as the
"`Paris "of the Middle East. The ambiance which was lively was enriched
by the Lebanese music and the dancing of an exotic belly dancer. After
savoring the delicious Lebanese cuisine the guests were encouraged to
join in the dancing.
The evening closed with everyone in high spirits. We would like to thank
CCC and Mr. Magdi Halawani, for the courtesy of providing us with the
entertainment (music and belly dancer) and for suggesting that we
organize this event.
